ABOUT US
Football is played at Alconbury by all ages from Under 6 to under 17 football and encompasses, mini league, colts football (no current girls team but it is hoped to re-establish as soon as possible) on both Saturday and Sunday. There is also mid week training on grass during the summer or on the MUGA all weather pitch in winter.

The next meeting and last of the season is the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 21 May 2018 at 19:30.
Please note that the Chair, Alan Hewitt, will be stepping down after 2 years as Chair and Vice-Chair, therefore volunteers to take on this rewarding role are welcome, as are other volunteers to support the committee

SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS
Late payments
The club has considerable outlay in the rental of pitches and payment for equipment, courses and referees fees. We rely on subscriptions to cover these costs and are very flexible about how these are paid. Unfortunately almost one third of the subscriptions are not set up at present which would mean the club will be in debt and have to close if this is not swiftly rectified. Regrettably, because of the severity of this challenge the committee have decided that any player who is not up to date with subscription payments by the end of November will not be eligible to play for their respective teams and managers have been advised that they should not pick players who have no subscription plan in place.

Where a one off yearly or a monthly installment plan can be set up, this avoids the need for reminders and is an effortless method for both parties when set up. In exceptional circumstances we will accept cheque or cash monthly payments via managers but this is not as secure or as easy to administer.

CLUB WELFARE OFFICER
Child Safety at Alconbury
Given the recent investigations of coaches and historical abuse identified the FA and ourselves as a club are committed to the wellbeing and protection of all children in our care and also to the protection of volunteers from damaging rumours. To this end each club has a welfare officer and all parents and club officials need to know that the welfare officer is the first point of contact if you have any concerns, no matter how small, about the welfare of any of the children involved in football. This is not limited to just our club as we can provide information to the FA as necessary for further investigation.

FA SPOT CHECKS
Audit of Junior clubs to ensure compliance with child safety guidelines.
The club fully supports the FA initiative to ensure that all clubs have undertaken the necessary checks on Managers/coaches/assistants to protect young people in sport. The club have already undertaken a review of all teams managers/coaches/assistants and furnished the Local FA with the information that we are fully compliant. We encourage all parents and teams to view the link below which identifies why this is happening and be aware that unannounced spot checks by FA officials have taken place and the club have acted to ensure we are fully compliant following recommendations from the checks.
